In our last issue, we reported that BWNA has extra funds after two years of canceled events, and we invited neighbors to provide feedback about how BWNA should invest in the community. BWNA email subscribers received a survey in May and 108 neighbors responded.
What’s Most Important to B-W Neighbors?
Neighborhood-wide community events, beautification and clean-up efforts, grants for local nonprofits, Wilshire Park enhancements, public safety features, or art installations?
Of the six identified areas of investment, neighbors responded that beautification and clean-up efforts were the highest priority with 27 percent of the responses, but a close second at 26 percent was public safety features. Neighbors also shared 57 specific ideas on how we can invest in the community.
So, What’s Next?
First, thank you to the neighbors who participated in this survey! We now have more information to help guide our neighborhood association’s budgeting and priorities. All six areas are important for the livability and vitality of Beaumont-Wilshire, and BWNA can start planning how to best use funds to reflect the desires of our community.
