#1: Trick or Treat on Fremont Street
On October 31, to ensure trick or treating on Fremont Street can happen without darkness descending, the event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Participating businesses, which will have an orange balloon out front, will be handing out candy. A complete list of participating businesses will also be listed on the BBA website (bbapdx.org) as the event gets closer, so you can plan your route!
#2: Trick or Treat For Cans
For the slightly older set, Trick or Treat for Cans is a newer addition to Trick or Treat on Fremont Street, and is being held from 5 to 8 p.m. On Halloween night, trick or treat volunteers should check in at Sylvan Learning, 4300 NE Fremont St., where they’ll be provided with a tote bag, map, and route assignments and then head door to door in the neighborhood. Instead of candy, they’ll be asking for canned goods to be donated to the Sunshine Division. (Feel free to ask for candy, too!) Costumes are encouraged. For more information and to volunteer, email BBA president Mary Myers at bbaboardpresident@gmail.com.
