Movie-in-the-Park a Hit Once Again

Kids, dogs, frisbees, sweet treats, music kiddos love to dance to, and the hit movie “In and Out 2.” What’s not to like about this summer rite of passage at Wilshire Park?

This is the third year in a row the Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood Association has been able to score one of the available Summer Free for All movies offered by Portland Parks & Recreation. The movies play in Portland parks where there’s a neighborhood association willing to pay the $1,000 fee required by the City of Portland. Also, for the third year, the hosting fee was split evenly between BWNA and the Alameda Neighborhood Association; BWNA sprang for the cost of music by the kid-friendly band Red Yarn, whose lively tunes brought out a bevy of tiny dancers.

Many a tired child was carried out of the park after an evening of making new friends and creating great memories.
