What fun! Bubbles were everywhere at the annual Fremont Fest, a family-friendly event held August 2 on Fremont Street between NE 42nd and NE 50th avenues. Fremont Fest was sponsored this year — and has been for many decades — by the Beaumont Business Association. BWNA hosted a booth at the event, where board members and volunteers provided information about the contributions the association makes to the neighborhood and the many ways neighbors can get involved.
The festival had a stated “Bubbles” theme and opened with a performance by the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers, a group comprised of about 15 performers who beat their drums in a series of well-choreographed and dramatic percussion pieces. After that it was food, shopping at approximately 200 booths, play spaces for kids, and lots and lots of bubbles.
