Chopping, raking, and stuffing were the work of the day. On June 6, the BWNA Events Committee’s beautification team organized a group of volunteers to tackle the build-up of winter debris and overly enthusiastic spring plant growth on the Alameda Ridge stairs that traverse down to NE 42nd Avenue. Event partner Portland Bureau of Transportation assisted with debris pickup.
Angela Frome, event organizer, was pleased with the result.
“When neighbors come together to improve shared spaces,” she said, “They create not only a more beautiful community, but a stronger one.”
