Let’s hope we don’t get washed out again this summer. Keep the faith and mark your calendars for Friday, July 7, for the jointly-sponsored BWNA/ANA (Alameda Neighborhood Association) “Movie in the Park”—this year featuring the 2016 animated film “Sing.”
Come out to the Wilshire Park ball diamonds by 6:30 to lay claim to your lawn space. Pre-movie musical entertainment and popcorn are included, courtesy of Portland Parks & Recreation, and food vendors are scheduled to be available for those wishing to augment picnic basket treats and the free popcorn.
So think positively and plan on a pleasant evening among the big firs with scores of neighborhood families communally enjoying some favorite tunes, picnic victuals, and the comedy musical hit “Sing” featuring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton, and Tori Kelly. The plot involves a group of animals that enter a singing competition, hosted by a koala hoping to save the theater. And it’s pretty hard to beat the price of admission!
