Local Scout Troop and Parents Help Beautify Neighborhood

In between rainstorms on May 28th, a group of hearty scouts from Troop 107 picked up trash, swept, raked, and scooped up a bunch of yard debris on the three neighborhood stairways leading from Wistaria Drive to Alameda Street. The boys were in good spirits and the work was quick and efficient, with many hands making light work. A yard debris bin borrowed from a neighbor became quite heavy, but the boys had a good time helping out the community.

Then again on June 8th, the troop took action in cleaning, weeding and spreading mulch on the grounds at Wilshire United Methodist Church. The congregation at the church allows the troop to meet there on Tuesdays throughout the year, and in return the troop helps by cleaning and landscaping, along with other small projects.

Thanks goes out to all the boys and parents who participated and helped make this a successful project.
