Our neighborhood’s annual fun-filled street fair—— Fremont Fest—— will be Saturday August 3rd from 10:00am to 6:00pm. It features music, food, shopping and events for children and adults alike—— all in a safe, festive pedestrian mall created by closing Fremont from 42nd to 52nd to all vehicles from 7:00am to 8:00pm. For early-birds, there’s a 5K run/walk at 9:00am sponsored by Foot Traffic. Fremont Fest will then open with the popular Kids’ Bike & Pet Parade at 10:00am, led by New Orleans style brass band The Brass Roots, along with vintage cars and a Portland fire truck with siren and lights. Children should gather for the parade at Beaumont Middle School starting at 9:30am.
Fremont Fest will include over 100 street vendors, multiple stages with live music and entertainment all day. Kids Fun Zones with a theme of Old Fashioned Family Fun, will include activities such as pony rides, a cake walk, water balloon toss, egg balance, and much more! For moms, dads and the older set, the ever-popular Pub Crawl will return, featuring the great beers and wines from pubs all along Fremont. The Pub Crawl will end with a raffle at Fremont Ridge where those that have visited all of the pubs on their ticket will be entered to win either a cruiser bicycle or a set of golf clubs donated by Fremont Ridge! Of course, there’ll be bargains galore at the street vendor booths and in the wonderful variety of shops and stores of Beaumont Village. Plus, taste tantalizing treats from the food vendors, restaurants, pubs and dessert shops along Fremont—— culinary delights from many parts of the world. Sponsored by the Beaumont Business Association, Fremont Fest is the signature event for our neighborhood. It’s an ideal time to invite your friends and family from other parts of town to join you for a fun-filled day at Fremont Fest. Volunteers are also needed, and shifts are limited to four hours.
