Proximity to local businesses is one of the advantages to living in NE Portland. Residents of Beaumont-Wilshire are among the most fortunate in this regard. Within a short bicycle ride or a brisk walk we have access to a wide variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee houses, professional services and more.
More than 100 businesses line NE Fremont Street in Beaumont Village, the majority of them locally owned. Whether it’s picking up the daily groceries, getting a special hardware item for a house repair, sipping a cup of morning coffee with a friend, enjoying a nice meal out, treating yourself to a yummy dessert, selecting a special wine for dinner, relaxing with a craft beer, or shopping for gifts, clothing and special bargains, it’s all close by. You also have choices for professional services, from health and medical care for your family pets, to car repair, home remodeling, insurance, financial services and more.
The Beaumont Business Association (BBA) works to attract and support local businesses that provide needed goods and services, and that will enhance the livability of Beaumont-Wilshire and adjacent neighborhoods. The BBA also sponsors two major events — Fremont Fest in August and Festival of Lights in December — to encourage the neighborhood to shop local and enjoy the benefits of a vital, diverse business district that’s not far from their front door.
