This mural at the corner of NE 45th and Fremont was commissioned by Chris Peterson, owner of McPeet’s.
“I’d been thinking about a mural since 2017,” he said. “After 2-plus years of Covid, it seemed like now was the time to put something beautiful on that wall.”
A creation of Portland artist Carla Deal, the mural was completed late last year. Carla’s a painter and muralist who said working on the project was uplifting—she met many kind, encouraging people. “It felt like a community project,” Carla said.
